He introduced me how wonderful straight hair was and I got it by Brazilian treatment. He become my favorite hair stylist. He has quiet, honest and cool personality . He uses only scissors for cutting hair ( some hair stylists use a face cutter as well though). If the face cutter were used for my hair , my hair would spread out into any direction and I would not be able to enjoy with it…Thanks Kei!!

I met Mr.Kei 3 years ago just after I started working in US. It was first time to visit a hair salon where he used to work. At that time,I was about to give up finding a hair stylist like who used to take care of my hair in Japan while checking hair salons online. Because she was too good. Before I left Japan, the hair stylist I previously mentioned had given me a paper explaing how to keep the same hair style I used to request her. Then, I passed it to Mr.Kei. I do remember he was reading the paper very carefully and started cutting my hair. Not only that, when you talk to him, you would see that he is more faithful than you think 🙂 He also has a sense of humor and ability to make people laugh. He does not just cut but customize per request to get it better. At the end, you do not just come for haircuts but for relax. Why do not you have him cut once? I”ll guarantee.

Keiさんに出会ったのは今から3年前アメリカに赴任してすぐの頃。日本でずっとお世話になった美容師に代わるような人はアメリカにはいないんじゃないかと諦めモードで美容室をいろいろ探してたときにたまたま目に留まったホームページを見て当時Keiさんが働いていたお店を訪れたのが最初でした。前述の美容師がアメリカに行っても同じヘアスタイルにしてもらえるようにと作ってくれたカットの方法を記載した紙を渡して「これでお願いします。」と伝えると、すごい真剣に読んでカットしてくれたのを覚えています。見た目以上に真面目です(笑)それだけじゃなく、ここをもっとこうした方が良いとかいろんなアドバイスもくれ、時にはしょーもない話で笑かしてくれます。最後はただカットしにいくだけではなく、リラックスしに行くような感覚でした。ぜひ一度Keiさんにカットしてもらってはいかがでしょうか。

I have seen Kei-san for the past 4-5 years for my haircuts when he was in Fort Lee, New Jersey, USA. I am a 34 year old male, and never had any complaints with his styling and services. He was my go-to stylist in town. For the first 3-4 years I moved away for grad school about 800km away but always waited to visit his salon every 3-4 months. Kei is one of the most sincerest guys I have met at a hair salon, and he is always professional but at the same time, likes to joke around and shares a sense of humor to lead interesting conversations while getting my haircut.

He is also knowledgeable in hair hygiene and styling methods, and can recommend various ways to self-style your hair at home. He is very up-to-date on trendy styles, and he has no problem styling hair the way you want it. Although there were times that I did not get to see him for months, he would always remember me and my usual hairstyle so that I did not have to explain how I wanted it every time. I definitely miss his services after he moved away to Amsterdam, but I plan to give him a visit if I ever get to visit over there. Overall, 5 stars, A+ rating as a hair stylist, and would personally recommend whether you are male or female.

Hair stylist who have cutting my hair went other State for personal reason and she recommended me Kei. First time I have doubt that he would cut my hair nicely as before and I was concerning that there would be language barrier between me and him. However after first service, my doubts and concerns were all gone. He knows how and what style would suitable for each customers. And also, he listen carefully what customer wants and remembers each clients history of hair styling. I think that would makes him best hair stylist I’ve met and I would highly recommend him. Whoever get his hair service will not be regret it.

Because of my lazy personality and my tendency not to change once I decide something, for years after I came to America I got my hair done by one designer. Kai worked in the booth next to that designer, where I saw the refined and refreshing looks of his customers’ hair, befitting his style. After then, beginning with my teenage son, then my husband, then me, my whole household began to see Kei once a month for 3 years until Kei moved to the Netherlands.

Although we had similar hairstyles throughout the years, Kei made sure that each time there was something new, and even when we didn’t give him specific instructions to do so, he made sure to do our hair in a way that flattered our faces and hid our flaws, but wasn’t starkly obvious. The hairstyles Kei gives only improve from the first day in the hair salon. His haircuts are within the Top 5 in the New York/New Jersey area (in my standard).

He is faithful and sincere despite his appearance, and I am thankful that he is so constant. I believe that he will continue to do well and not lose that character. Even now, if he returned to America, I would welcome him with open arms.

매번 엇비슷한 스타일들 하는 우리지만, 질리지 않게 늘 변화도 주고, 굳이 꼬집어 말하지 않아도 얼굴형에 맞게 단점을 가리면서 튀지 않고 세련된 스타일들 만들어 주었다. Kei 머리는 미장원 다녀온 날부터 점점 좋아진다는… Cut만큼은 뉴욕/뉴저지에서 다섯 손가락 안에 든다 (내 기준).

외모와 달리 성실하고 한결 같아서 고마웠고, 지금 그 감각 잃지 않고 잘 해나가리라 믿는다. 혹시 지금이라도 다시 미국으로 온다면 쌍수를 들어 환영이다.

I have two sons 11 and 10, and Kei made all three of us look great for years. Before we go how Kei does make you styled you will love, Kei is a great person. We loved when we go to see him every month, even kids loved to get their hair styles by Kei (normally, kids hate to go to hair salon! ).
